Lubell 2/3: 16
Extremely sparse ink drawing of a mountain range landscape in California, with the mountains, horizon, and trees are drawn with light red ink. A small amount of red wash is also used to color in a valley and some parts of the mountains, but for the most part, details are fairly rare for the piece. One use of detail is a line pattern used for show what appears to be a farm or pasture. Drawn on a page torn from an artist’s sketchbook.

Lubell 2/4: 24
Meticulous ink drawing of what appears to be an extensive coral formation or pile of seaweed. Ink lines of varying length and width are used for definition and visual distinction, but the lack of spatial context makes it seem almost adrift. What seems to be an eye can be seen near the center of the structure. Drawn on gray paper.
