Lubell 2/3: 21
Brown ink and wash drawing with pastel. Rich, colorful, depiction of a great section of hills and valleys, with a group of dead trees in the foreground. While some ink has been used to outline the space and environment, as well as define certain areas more with quickly-drawn line patterns, this space is entirely for the extensive and diverse range of colors. A host of blues (sky), greens (pasture, grass), brown (trees, hills), and oranges (part of the land) mesh together very nicely. Painted on a page torn from an artist’s sketchbook. See also Lubell 20.
