Pastel and wash drawing with brown ink of a large forest of dead or leafless trees dwarfed by a hill, itself dotted with more verdant trees. Some buildings can be seen at a distance on the left side. Art style is very much impressionistic, with a lack of specific definition, wide use of colors, and the way that they form a pattern. However, there are still a number of small details, like the little-defined plants growing next to the trees. Painted on a blue page torn from an artist’s sketchbook.
