Among the manuscripts are forty-eight handwritten transcriptions by Sultanoff of arrangements by Gil Evans, Gerry Mulligan, Mary Lou Williams, Benny Carter, Bill Hollman, Tadd Dameron, Neil Hefti, Bob Brookmeyer, Gil Fuller, Manny Albam, and Al Cohn. This collection includes 272 metal vinyl molds, seventy-one open reel tapes, and four audio disks. The open reel tapes are primarily recordings of radio broadcasts by performers including Stan Kenton and Max Roach. The metal vinyl molds are mostly related to the activities of the Meritt Record Society (Valburn's record label) which was founded in 1979 and focused on reissues of early jazz releases.

This collection contains forty-six black-and-white 5x7 prints taken by Wilder in the 1960s and 1970s. The photographs include many candid shots of musicians including Duke Ellington on stage, Louis Armstrong recording a commercial, the Modern Jazz Quartet on the Cavett Show 1973, and Eubie Blake at the Waldorf Astoria. The photographs were printed in 1991 for the Annual Review of Jazz Studies issue 5.
