Abstract:

The Philip J. Greven Jr Papers contain materials related to Greven's years as an American history professor and his work campaigning against child abuse. Many the documents in this collection consist of drafts and correspondence regarding Greven's book Spare the Child. Other materials pertain to Greven's student years, papers written for journals and conferences, and his role as a trustee for the Keasbey Memorial Foundation.

Scope and Content Note: The Phyllis Zatlin Papers consist of 7.5 cubic feet of material contained in 15 legal-size manuscript boxes, one short top box, and one oversize box. Professor Remigio U. Pane was a professor of Italian at Rutgers University from 1939-1990s. As head of the romance language department he oversaw the department's transformation, helped to create the Rutgers Junior Year in Italy programme, and was highly active in educational communities as well as Italian-American ones. This collection reflects Pane's varied interests as well as his tenure at Rutgers.

These records chronicle the administrative career of Irving S. Upson, who from 1890-1915 took on various roles within Rutgers College. These roles include that of the first university registrar, secretary, and treasurer, as well as college librarian.
