Adolph Dittmar was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1870. He married Pauline S. Graeber in New York City, then soon after settled in Freehold, Monmouth County. Dittmar ran a bakery business for many years.

Julia A. Hance (1838–1926) was born in Rumson, Monmouth County, a daughter of Borden Hance (1801–1859) and Rebecca Woolley (1816–1891). A widow of Robert F. Parker (1831–1861), she married Bloomfield Drummond (1822–1900) as his second wife. They lived in Red Bank.

Scope and Contents: Teunis Denise Dubois was the son of the Rev. Benjamin Dubois (1739–1827) and Phoebe Denise (1743–1839). The Rev. Dubois was a long-serving pastor at the Old Brick Reformed Church in Marlboro, Monmouth County. Teunis first apprenticed to his older brother Joseph in New York City to learn the silversmithing trade. Scope and Contents: Born in Burlington County, Anthony Reckless was a son of Joseph W. Reckless and Hannah McKnight. He was married in 1847 to Mary E. Seaman (1825–1883). Scope and Contents: Nathaniel Scudder Rue was born in Manalapan, Monmouth County, a son of Nathaniel Scudder Rue (1781–1852) and Elizabeth Toan (1789–1846). He married Ann Potts Cox (1814–1863) in 1837. At first Rue served as a tavern and hotel keeper in Freehold.
