This collection contains memorabilia and audio recordings. The collection includes sixty-one 78rpm recordings (including seventeen test pressings), nine 48rpm recordings (including four test pressings by Sampson), and nineteen LPs (including sixteen test pressings). The collection also includes Sampson's saxophone and case.
The Ella Fitzgerald music, papers, audio recordings, and artifacts collection is primarily comprised of more than 1,000 song titles of printed sheet music that the singer either recorded, performed, or read during the course of her career. Jazz is the genre most documented, but significant amounts of popular music from the 1940s through the 1980s are also present.
This collection contains materials related to the life and music of Elmer Snowden. It includes press clippings, personal and professional correspondence, memorabilia, and ephemera. This collection contains twenty-five open reel tapes, Snowden’s top hat, and materials related to Chris Albertson.
