James T. Maher papers

This collection contains research files, notes, a scrapbook, book drafts, and television scripts. There are many files with biographical information on Art Landry and Benny Goodman. There are also materials on Nancy Cunard, Marion McPartland, Paul Whitman, Hal Kemp, Arthur Lange, Bert Kelly, and Mannie Klein. The papers also include materials and correspondence related to Ken Burn's Jazz documentary series. There are index cards with music discographical and artist information, along with bibliography lists, reviews, memorial programs, obituary news clippings, postcards, and songbooks. Also included are thirty-one audiocassettes, three reels, one VHS, and a Buddy Rich band banner.
