Container Summary

On the inside cover, there is a hand-written note “Presented by C.T. Coakley, M.D.” This may be referring to Coakley’s son, Dr. Cornelius G. Coakley. On the first-page, there is a notation “Notes on Trigonomitry & C. Copied for Prof. Coakley by John R. Cava[lry]. A loose hand-written note on a small piece of paper placed in the middle of the notebook pages states “This notebook was [Rejet] by a student at CCNY _ or College of St. James, Md. where Dr. Coakley taught mathematics. Dr. Coakley did not teach at Rutgers.” The notes in this book are predominately in ink and appear to have the same handwriting. The notes include geometry, algebra, illustrated diagrams, and notes in English.
