IV. Hand-Written Notebooks, (n.d.)

Dates

  • (n.d.)

Container Summary

The inside pages of both notebooks have aged to a cream-yellow color with faded light blue, aqua lines. Both notebooks are fragile and their brittle, leather bindings have red rot. The small notebook includes a notation in the front that suggests that lectures may have been copied by a student into the notebook as a gift to Coakley and delivered by his son, Cornelius Godfrey Coakley. The medium notebook contains a variety of subject matter with text in both English and Latin. The notebook does not appear to have a front or back and display a wide variety of handwriting examples suggesting that more than one person used it. There is no documentation to clarify any connection between Coakley and this notebook.
