Town street scene, with People engaged in daily tasks (woman balancing full basket on her head, man directing loaded donkey, and hooded figure with [purchases], overseen by people looking from windows. Cut wood board. Four women. In foreground, two, with hooded capes, kneeling and seated facing each other. Two topless and skirted, dancing in the background, waving branches. Bowl of pomegranates. Scope and Contents: Lubell 428 Plywood block, cut on both sides: one side with four uncut borders, and the other with two uncut borders. Title on short edge of block reads “Dew G – Reverse Malta 7.” Three female figures wearing [Greek] robes, and holding water vessels: a bowl, a jug and two urns. Greek words written vertically: ΕΡΣΗ, ΠΑΝΔ, ΡΟΣΟΣ, and ΑΓΛΑΥΡΟΣ. One holds a [basket?] on her head. Colors: brown, red and cream. This is similar to ...
