BLOCKS AND PLATES

Summary:This series consists of 118 woodblocks, lino blocks and metal plates, many used for prints in this collection. Cross-references are made to prints made from or likely or possible to have been made from these blocks. Many blocks are neither titled nor dated. Titles written on the woodblocks are not necessarily the titles on the prints made from those blocks. Arrangement is alphabetical by title, if available, with first preference to any title written on the block and second preference, in brackets, to the actual or probable title of the related print. Numbers that would separate titles otherwise following an alphabetical sequence, e.g. Seed Pod, 4 Seed Pod, are ignored and filed by the alphabetical title. Untitled blocks are at the end of the alphabetical listing. Measurements are of the block size, unless otherwise noted, and are height x width in centimeters. The blocks and plates are housed in 28 boxes. Each box of blocks contains a folder with photocopies or scans of the blocks within that box.
