Eleanor Dubois was a daughter of Charles Dubois (1757–1804) and Anna Hendrickson (1761–1798). She married William Hendrickson (1787–1831). Their children included Sarah Ann Hendrickson Schenck, William Henry Hendrickson, Charles Dubois Hendrickson, and Mary Hendrickson Corlies.

In 1901, he moved to Red Bank, but retained ownership of the property until it was sold out of the family in 1946. An auction of his estate held on October 17, 1959, dispersed many family heirloom antiques.
