Scope and Contents

Cowart & Perrine was a Freehold store and a partnership of Enoch L. Cowart (1807–1889) and David Clark Perrine (1816–1888). The business opened in December of 1840. It was dissolved by mutual consent on 1 April 1853, with Perrine continuing at the same location. A collection of Cowart & Perrine business papers is owned by the Monmouth County Historical Association.
