Lubell 8/19: 314a-d

Colored woodblock print in yellow, greens, brown and red. Image is of tall [grass?], with a butterfly above and below a hand about to capture a salamander or lizard. 314b-d are labeled “Proof,” with 314a including a further notation: ”I.” The prints have a number of color and content differences. In 314 a&b, the butterfly is colored green, while in 314c&d, it is colored purple. 214c&d have a grasshopper in the [grass?], while the other two prints have none. The butterfly in 314b is placed to the upper right, while in the other prints, it is in the upper left.

Sizes range from 44.5 x 20.4 cm to 43.9 x 18.2 cm
