PRINTS
Scope and Contents
Summary:This series consists of 371 prints, primarily woodblock and white line prints (lithographs and engravings are also present). These prints represent over half of the works of art in this collection. The artist created both black and white and color prints, and explored her interest in social issues, nature, the role of women in society and myths of female power. Among the prints are final copies, artist proofs and many duplicates, some showing different treatment of the same woodblock. Treatments of the same subject in different materials and formats have been categorized for the most part, with the primary material, though some have been kept together and, for most others, an attempt has been made to provide cross-references. The works are housed in four large flat boxes, each containing up to 23 folders. Several prints are in each folder, separated and protected by interleaving paper. Arrangement is by Rutgers identifying Lubell number. Measurements are of the paper size, unless otherwise noted, and are height x width in centimeters.
