Scope and Contents
Lubell 8/7: 285a-d
Four prints of a small black and white wood engraving of three animals – deer, spotted lion and rabbit – bordered by circle and ordered inside a large, non-figural pattern. The organization makes it look like a triptych, with the smaller images inside the images holding the most importance. 285a has white covering some of the details. 285b and c are identified, respectively, as Proofs 1 and 2. Other copies of this print are listed as Lubell 113. This print also forms a part of a larger print, Fragments from Athena’s Robe, Lubell 291. See woodblock, [Coptic Fragment] (Lubell 420, Box 20).
