Hekate at the Crossroads,, [1984-1985?]
Dates
- [1984-1985?]
Scope and Contents
Lubell 6/15: 112
Colored white line woodcut print of Hekate, the Greek goddess identified with the moon, witchcraft and sorcery, and magic. Many of the visual elements identified with her – a torch, wings, wild dogs, and her triple-bodied form among them – are used here. Some of Hekate's spheres of influence are often associated with women in various cultures, making her a likely inevitable choice for Lubell to depict. Signed Winifred Milius Lubell. See woodblock, Hekate (Lubell 449, Box 27).
