Lubell 6/2: 64a-b

These two woodblock prints are portraits of Rosalind Foner. A full-body profile of a barefoot woman standing and holding her head. The differences between the two are fairly interesting; the first print (64a) is on a light machine-made rice paper and the second (64b) on a thicker paper with a blue background, and the first’s ink is deeper but less glossy. This makes the second one look both different from and equivalent. 64a is signed WM Lubell ’53. 64b is titled Roslyn and signed W. Milius ’53.

64a – 44 x 19.8 cm

64b – 42.9 x 23 cm
