Scope and Contents
Lubell 2/6: 41
Brown ink and wash drawing of an alien landscape. Most of the foreground is taken up by sweeping natural constructs, with a few jagged pieces (what appear to be broken tree trunks) near the bottom right corner. Watercolor is used as the coloring and shading, while loose ink lines – and in two cases, tentacle-like objects – break away from the rest of the piece. Taking the title literally, this appears to depict a world unspoiled by human presence – or much apparent life at all, for that matter. Verso has draft graphite pencil sketch. Signed W. Lubell.
