An extremely abstract, almost totally non-figural drawing in pastel and wash of what appear to be very stylized dead trees in a field, with a blue tree and a nondescript white cloud in the background. Details are both sparse and fairly confusing; the piece looks more like an extremely stylistic interpretation of a more concrete place. Color is limited to greens, brown, blue, and white. Possibly set in California. This is (possibly) corroborated by the trees – they appear dead, reminiscent of the dead trees in many of Lubell’s California landscapes.
