Scope and Contents
Ross D19 - 167a-b
Two collagraphs: one multi-colored, predominantly orange and brown, with blue sky and the other in darker colors, predominantly brown and green, with a salmon-colored sky. Juxtaposed Venetian buildings, with gondolas and green water in the foreground. The orange and brown print, Ross 167a, Artist’s Proof, is on heavy cream-colored paper. The green and brown print, Ross 167b, A/P, is on heavy black paper. Both are signed John Ross. Ross 167b was torn in many places around the edges and is quite brittle. The tears were repaired with Japanese paper and the perimeter was also reinforced with Japanese paper. These prints are oversized and housed in a Map Case Drawer, Folder 19. A related print is Untitled (Ross 178, Box 5 Folder 14).
