This collection contains eight original holograph scores by Gil Evans for Helen Merrill and one score for Tony Bennett. The songs include: (for Merrill) "I'm Just a lucky So and So," "People Will Say We're in Love," "I've Never Seen," "He was too Good to me," "Where Flamingos Fly," "By Myself," "You're Lucky to Me," "I'm a Fool to Want You," "Troubled Waters," and (for Bennett) "I'm Just a Lucky So and So."
This collection contains music manuscripts and photocopies of full scores, lead sheets, and parts for Carisi's compositions and arrangements. It also contains forty-four open reels and forty-seven audio cassettes. The collection additionally includes personal papers, ephemera, and correspondence.
This collection largely comprises written music and audio recordings created or accumulated by Teo Macero (1925-2008) in his career as a musician and music producer, but also includes smaller amounts of personal and other professional papers. It also inlcudes original manuscript materials associated with the "Charlie Parker with Strings" sessions and performances.
