The collection comprises Michael Bourne's audio recordings and jazz-related ephemera. It contains 354 cassette tapes, eighty-two CDs, four open reel tapes, five DATs, and two VHS tapes. Scope and Contents:
This collection contains photographs of jazz musicians by the photographer, Mitchell Seidel. Notable performers photographed within this collection include Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Freddie Hubbard, Philly Joe Jones, members of the Marsalis family, and George Duvivier. Also of note in this collection are images of Thelonious Monk's funeral, as well as, photographs of the Newport Jazz Festival and Kool Jazz Festival (1977-1988).
