This collection contains over 2,000 black-and-white and color photographs of jazz performers (circa 1970-2000). The photographs are mostly work prints with some final shots included. There are 11x14 inch, 8x10 inch, and 5x7 inch concert photographs; some are resin coated, silver, or inkjet prints. Some prints are mounted.

This collection contains three horns, nine photographs, and one plaque. The photographs include images from Wheeler's time in the Cotton Club orchestra and Cab Calloway's orchestra in the 1920s. Also of note in the collection is an image of the USS Seattle Band (1942).
