Abstract:

The Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center Archives project seeks to preserve the knowledge gained from planning and construction of the Rutgers University system of transportation and ultimately provide a resource for future scholars, practitioners, and decision makers to understand the lessonsthat were learned by the first generation of transportation professionals. This collection contains reports, surveys, notes, memoranda, and policies from 1954-2010.

Abstract: Albert Huntington Chester, chemist, mineralogist, and mining engineer, was on the faculties of Hamilton and Rutgers College. His papers include correspondence to Chester from scientists and friends relating to mineralogy, geology, Chester's expedition to iron mines in Minnesota, and the publication of his books on mineralogy. Introduction:

The papers of Francis P. Chinard, M.D. date from 1962 to 1997, but consist mainly of documents from 1970 to 1990. The collection totals approximately 4.5 linear feet. They form Faculty Collection 10 in the University Libraries' Special Collections. The papers are open for research with minimal restrictions under the conditions of the Archive's access policy.

Abstract: The papers of John K. Medoff document the business, academic, and civic affairs he was involved in throughout his adult life. Medoff began his own pest control business and through it, became highly involved with what became Cook College. Also active in pest control trade organizations, Medoff used his knowledge, savvy, and connections to help influence New Jersey state politicians. Dr. Leslie A. Stauber attended Rutgers as a student and later returned as a professor of zoology. He was prominent in the fields of zoology and microbiology and served on many boards and committees both within and outside of the university community. This collection contains his papers and his personal and professional correspondence along with photographs.

Abstract: These records were compiled by Drs. Susan Ford and John Kraeuter at Rutgers University's Haskin Shellfish Research Lab in Port Norris, New Jersey. They were loaned to Dr. Melbourne R. Carriker (1915-2007), as he documented the history of the National Shellfisheries Association (N.S.A.) from its beginnings into the early 21st Century.
