This collection contains over 200 photographs documenting the filming of jazz musicians by Gjon Mili and Norman Granz at Mili's studio in September 1950. The musicians include Charlie Parker and Coleman Hawkins, Ella Fitzgerald, Lester Young, Hank Jones, Ray Brown, and Buddy Rich.

This collection largely comprises written music and audio recordings created or accumulated by Teo Macero (1925-2008) in his career as a musician and music producer, but also includes smaller amounts of personal and other professional papers. It also inlcudes original manuscript materials associated with the "Charlie Parker with Strings" sessions and performances.
