Dr. Irving Kull was a professor at Rutgers University in the History Department from 1918 until his retirement in 1954. Boxes 7, 8 and 9 of his papers include correspondence regarding the Department of History, departmental budgets, grade books and student lists, an unpublished manuscript on "New Jersey and the Constitution," and various photos of buildings and other architectural items.
The Isaac Field papers range in year from 1801 to 1897. On the whole, the papers document the daily activities of an affluent businessman in the mid-nineteenth century.
Papers, 1846-1887, kept in Stafford Township, Ocean County, N.J., among which are records, 1847-1854, of Mannahawkin Division No. 54, Sons of Temperance, and various real estate documents (plans of surveys, deeds, tax receipts, etc.).
The Israel F. Silvers Family Papers primarily consist of the letters, diaries, account books and photographs of the Silvers and Talman families. In addition, there are miscellaneous other personal papers, as well as various newspaper clippings and magazine articles collected by the family.
Record, of almost 500 freight barges, kept in Woodbury, Gloucester County, N.J.
This collection contains thirty-one 13x19 inch photographic prints of famous jazz musician gravesites. The photographs were used for the book Jazz Lives: Till We Shall Meet and Never Part . These prints are on archival paper and have the print date written on them. A few have inscriptions. The gravestones of musicians include Lester Young, Miles Davis, Bessie Smith, Fletcher Henderson, Sidney Bechet, Johnny Hodges, and Duke Ellington.
