The papers of Francis P. Chinard, M.D. date from 1962 to 1997, but consist mainly of documents from 1970 to 1990. The collection totals approximately 4.5 linear feet. They form Faculty Collection 10 in the University Libraries' Special Collections. The papers are open for research with minimal restrictions under the conditions of the Archive's access policy.
The collection is comprised of one photo album containing photographs from c. 1890 until c. 1951. The photographs are primarily 8 x 10 black-and-white copy prints depicting scenes (and sometimes people) in southern New Jersey, especially Cumberland County.

The transcripts include Larry Luger, John Ferrara, Sheila Jordan, Gap Mangione, Ed Bert, Grover Washington, Harvie Swartz, George Shearing, Herbie Mann, Danny Mixon, Leon Chuck Moutsoulas, and Doc Cheatam. There are fifty-three audiocassettes of interviews with Milt Gabler, Tony Zano, Ali Ryerson, Richard Shulman, and Kaef Ruzaden.
