Scope and Contents
This series consists of correspondence, certificates, commemorative programs, and newspaper clippings. It is arranged alphabetically by subject. Items document Martland's appointment as Chief Medical Examiner in 1927, US Army appointments, Board qualifications, the Martland Medical Center dedication, the Martland Lectures, and the Saner Case (air embolism).
Of special interest is a 1939 letter from J. Edgar Hoover to Dr. Martland regarding his article in the book, Landmarks in Medicine (See Box 4, Folder 34)
