Scope and Contents
This series contains material documenting the establishment of New Jersey's first medical and dental school; fundraising activities of the Founders Fund Committee; financial affairs and budget allocations; accreditation and State approval of the College; and the development of a graduate school in the bio-medical sciences. The records contain extensive material on the lease and affiliation agreements with the Jersey City Medical Center, as well as the relationship between the Jersey City municipal government and the SHCMD. Also included is correspondence with State officials regarding the State takeover of SHCMD. The records consist of correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings, by-laws, rules and regulations. The series is arranged into seven subseries with their contents arranged in alphabetical order.
