Scope and Contents
The bulk of this collection contains correspondence between Scottish journalist Ken Gallacher and various jazz musicians, including Sir Charles Thompson, Pee Wee Russell, Ralph Sutton, Bud Freeman, Peanuts Hucko, Kenny Davern, Dick Sudhalter, Billy Butterfield, Keith Ingman, Bob Haggart, and Yank Lawson. The correspondence includes 159 letters and postcards dated 1959 through 2001. The collection also includes letters Gallacher received from readers of his jazz newspaper column, as well as, printed discographies, concert and festival programs, ticket stubs, and articles.
