Scope and Contents
This collection contains materials related to the life and music of Dick Cary. It includes music manuscripts, photographs, cassette and open reel tapes, correspondence, personal and professional papers, press clippings, scrapbooks, awards, and ephemera. Forty-two of the seventy-six boxes are music manuscripts of original scores and arrangements by Cary between 1950 and 1994. The majority are unpublished. This collection also contains 599 audio cassettes and 418 open reel tapes dating 1950-1994. In addition to his musical output, a significant portion of this collection contains photocopies of Cary’s diaries from 1931-1994.
