Scope and Contents

This collection contains Django Reinhardt memorabilia and materials related to the French jazz scene during the 1930s and 1940s. There are letters written by Reinhardt in French and English as well as magazine and newspaper clippings about Reinhardt. Also included are French concert programs, a French Glenn Miller program, three photographs, and discographical information on European jazz performers such as Danish artist Svend Asmussen, Kai Ewans, and Norwegian artist Cecil Aagaard.

This collection also includes copies of French jazz publications, the Hot Club de France bulletins (1932-1945), Rythme - Echo Du Jazz (1940s), and also French concert programs (1950s).
