Printed Music
Scope and Contents
The Printed Music series comprises most of the Ella Fitzgerald Collection. The Manuscripts file consists of original score sheets. The Correspondence file, which dates between 1950 and 1977, has letters and scores from composers who hoped that Fitzgerald would perform or record their music. The composers range from prominent jazz figures (Sonny Burke and Herbie Lewis) to those aspiring to succeed in the music industry. The Printed Sheet file contains jazz scores as well as scores from other popular music genres.
