Scope and Contents
This audio is from a 1960 television broadcast. Bud Powell plays "John's Abbey.” Then the host (Sim Copans) introduces Lucky Thompson (2:38). Thompson (soprano saxophone), pianist Alice McLeod (later Coltrane), Pierre Michelot (bass), and Kenny Clarke (drums) play Ram Ramirez’s "Lover Man.” Copans introduces Billie Poole (8:08) who sings "Don't Ever Leave Me." At 11:48, Powell, Thompson (tenor saxophone), Jimmy Gourley (guitar), Clarke, and Michelot perform "Anthropology.”
