Scope and Contents

Summary:Photographic image of a portrait of David Hosack by Thomas Sully and engraved by A. B. Durand; descriptions (typescripts) of Hosack's estate in Hyde Park, N.Y., 1834 and 1835; title page and engraving of the Rutgers Medical College building on Duane Street in New York City, as they appeared in Hosack's Inaugural Discourse Delivered at the Opening of Rutgers Medical College (1826), and several lecture and matriculation tickets for the College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Rutgers Medical College, the Geneva College Medical Faculty, and the Rutgers Medical Faculty, Geneva College, ca. 1820-1828. Also included are photographs and negatives of specific documents in the records reproduced in David Cowen's history of Queen's/Rutgers College and medical education.
