Scope and Contents

Summary: The Committee Files series contains reports and correspondence from approximately sixty committees. Most of these committees were for internal Rutgers matters, although some had members from other institutions within the state or nationally.

The largest number of committee files are those on academic standards, articulation of colleges and secondary schools(), and teacher education. Some committees formed were short-lived or related to issues of the times, such as the War Curricula committee, which addressed students'desires to accelerate their programs at Rutgers so as to expedite their helping the war effort during World War II.
