II. Correspondence

Scope and Contents

The N.S.A. correspondence was found in three-ring binders and remains in the order it was found.

Christopher Riley was Director of the State of New Jersey's Department of Conservation. As such, he remained in touch with Dr. Thurlow C. Nelson regarding marine biology issues within New Jersey. Often, Nelson would communicate with residents or organization on issues of local and statewide significance.

Dr. Nelson and Dr. Melbourne Carriker also corresponded with each other for years, dating back to when Carriker was a student of Nelson's at Rutgers and ending upon Nelson's death in September 1960.
