I. Conference and Convention Information
Scope and Contents
These records include a variety of materials relating to the conventions and conferences held regularly for those in the shellfish industry. The records include general information on the conferences, as well as abstracts of papers presented and conference programs.
The materials are separated into two sub-series: Shellfish Conventions and Other Conferences. The Shellfish Conventions are those conventions organized by the N.S.A., OGDA, and SINA, and any of their predecessor organizations. Other Conferences include those such as the Aquaculture Conferences, which are held every three years. Although the N.S.A. began participating in the Aquaculture Conferences in 1989 and holding their own meetings as part of those conferences, it was opted to separate them so as to avoid confusion.
These records help illustrate the changing faces within the organizations, while also reflecting the important issues, research, and topics facing the shellfish industry as a whole.
