Scope and Contents
Summary: Files pertaining to the Agreement Between Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and Rutgers Council of the American Association of University Professors Chapter, 1977-1979. Topics include salaries, merit pay, discretionary raises, the grievance procedure, parking, fringe benefits, agency shop, early retirement, the role of co-adjunct faculty and their benefits, negotiability, grant-funded faculty, unit definition, affirmative action, and fact-finding. Material types consist of correspondence and memoranda, minutes and agendas, proposals, publications, articles, and a contract.
The "Summary of Negotiations Sessions" is not comprehensive. It covers sessions through October 1977, but fact-finding and negotiations continued through 1978. The minutes for bargaining sessions three to eight are missing.
