VII. Appointments and Promotions,, 1935-1972

These records are primarily personnel records. They are located with the Dean's records as she functioned as coordinator, funneling recommendations between the departments and the University administration. Included are correspondence with department heads, individual faculty members and University administrators; and worksheets of faculty by departments with notes to reappoint, terminate, and other actions.

These records supplement, but do not duplicate, personnel records. Indications exist here that personnel files are not complete. For example, a letter excepting a resignation mentions three years of service to N.J.C., but no personnel file could be found for that individual.
