V. Committee Files,, 1927-1972

Dates

  • 1927-1972

Scope and Contents

These records pertain to committee functions at Douglass College. Included are correspondence with committee members, lists of members and reports to the Dean from the committee. A few of these committee folders contain annual reports. The records have historical value as they show the many varied and specific committees that existed, as well as reveal the personalities of the different deans of the college and the extent of each dean's involvement with the happenings of Douglass College.

Materials relative to all-University committees have been filed in a separate subseries. These records consist of the committees that the Douglass Dean was a member of, or copies of reports were sent to her for reference purposes. There are quite a few committees that exist both in the Douglass and University sections. For example, the University "Committee on Committees" contains material suggesting to the Douglass Dean that she start a committee of her own on a particular topic.
