Scope and Contents

Contains memorandums and correspondence primarily concerned with the recruitment of faculty (positions offered, positions accepted, positions not accepted, positions desired, etc.). Confidential evaluations of candidates are requested, and thank you notes acknowledge their arrival. Other subjects discussed are the development of the Biophysics, Psychology, and City and Regional Planning departments, the search for English and Anthropology chairs, faculty illnesses, a California tour itinerary, academic use of residences, alumni funding possibilities, the Kilmer Area gymnasium, publicity efforts, married student housing matters and the development of non-university and university land in the Trans-Raritan Area. Also included are letters of recommendation, a draft of the Livingston College Pilot Program, and letters to several U.S. government officials (Senators Gruening, Kennedy, McGovern, Fulbright) supporting their anti-Vietnam stance.
