Lynton interview on development of Livingston (Transcript of tapes D, E, F, G, H, and I), 1968. Written transcripts of tape recordings conducted by Jerome L. Augmente concerning the planning and early development of Livingston College. Transcript D- Talk about Livingston as a new mode of education and an urban liberal arts center. Planning grant from Carnegie, faculty qualifications, and common questions. Transcript E- Admission standards, stereotypes, not comparable to any institution, rules on campus, dormitories, and a black house residence. F- Black/white relations, primarily black and Puerto Rican student body, "opportunity for everybody to do its thing not integrate necessarily," need "acceptance of difference not denial of difference", and drug culture discussion. Transcript G- Student and faculty sharing power, students play a part in governing the college. Transcript H- Student voting power on policy, identification of high potential students, summer enrichment and tutorial programs. Transcript I- Campus relationships to the community (A, B, C not included).
