(Diary 21. Black hardcover with red border.) Noteworthy to this book is Burks' ambivalence about an upcoming trip to Japan. Page 28 offers a commentary on a recent Japanese government change. Also included is a comparison on the education systems of Japan and America. In April he discusses his bad year. Burks is made aware of the death of his brother while living in Japan.
