Studying Hebrew rather than the law as once planned. Last Monday evening, Mr. William Porter Steele "took upon himself the high office of being Miss [Abby] Milledoler's -- whip." He gave Edward Johnson [1836] a "good hiding" for making free and easy remarks about Miss Abby. As a result the faculty has asked him to leave town, and he has had a writ served against him.
