Scope and Contents

Summary: This series chronicles Dr. Agger's work on this committee that served as a lobbying and advisory group to policy makers in Washington, DC and inlcudes the following:. Correspondence regarding invitations to new members to join and resignations of other members. Letters asking Dr. Agger to recommend people who were being considered for membership. Summaries of economic bills about to go before Congress on such subjects as the gold standard, inflation, fiscal policy, price control, and the silver standard. The committee's vote and recommendations to Congress concerning these bills including drafts and corrections. Articles published in The Economist stating the committee's recommendations on issues and economic policy. Information on the election of committee officers. Minutes of meetings and a full breakdown of voting results of members on various issues and articles in bills, including Dr. Agger's own recommendations and changes to certain parts. Policy statements solicited from Congress by the committee for or against certain bills. A call for papers and articles from members on current economic issues.
