Scope and Contents
Summary: These folders contain a wide variety of material. Most of these items are not memorabilia in the archival sense but are currently contained within this series until they can be further processed. This temporary series contains greeting cards, a photograph, notes, a diary, book plates, etc. Box 4, Folder 14 holds a stenographer's note pad. Although there is no author it seems to have been a journal entry by Elsie. The metal spiral has been removed from the note pad.
Clara Kangler's diary found in Box 4, Folder 7 dates from 1930 through 1934, Clara's high school years. Initially the diary may seem to have been written by five different people. However, on closer inspection it becomes clear that Clara authored all of the entries, but did so in an unconventional way. Instead of writing the entries from top to bottom she chose to write them across and the first page of diary reveals which year the rows were recorded in. For example: 1932 is started on page one in the third entry spot down and the year is then continued on every page in the third entry spot down.
