Scope and Contents

Summary:The Editor of Journal of the American Institute of Planners (JAIP) series (1960-1980) covers the years Dr. Krueckeberg was editor of the JAIP (now the Journal of the American Planning Association ) from 1976-1978.

The JAIP is the premier journal of the public planning field and Dr. Krueckeberg collected materials pertaining to the journal and its editorship from before, during and after his time as editor. Mostly consisting of correspondence, the series also contains policies and budgets for the journal, documents pertaining to his contract and appointment as editor, resource papers and authors and manuscripts notes.

The final sub-series Sub-Series C. AIP Journal History Project contains transcripts of interviews conducted by Dr. Krueckeberg as part of a history project undertaken by the journal. Dr. Krueckeberg travelled extensively to interview a number of important figures in the field of Urban Planning for the project and in addition to the transcriptions of the interviews, there are photographs of the a certain number of the interviewees as well.
